Today I made Luce some play magnets with pictures of people in our family. I printed the pictures out (being a little picky in what I chose, they had to be easy to cut out), cut them out carefully with an exacto knife, taped them all over with packing tape to a piece of cardstock for a laminated look - I did this on the backs too, cut out around the pictures, and stuck some of those adhesive magnets on the back. The total price for these was $2.50, for the magnets. I already had the other supplies on hand. I'm really happy with them and Luce loves them!
Sorry the pictures are so blurry - I took them fast, I had to keep an eye on dinner. And Lucy.
Here's Lucy playing with a picture of "Dada". It was so cute - she seemed so surprised to see him on the fridge! She kept saying "Dada, dada". She also loves the Auntie Monica ones and the ones with our dogs and cat. I hadn't thought about this, but I think it's good for her to have pictures of Dustin around to look at while he's at work. I'm going to try to come up with other ideas for inexpensive, simple, non-electronic toys to make for her. I want to try making some play dough, sewing her some felt food for her shopping cart and dying some play silks. Any other ideas that worked well for your kids or that you've seen?
very cute! great idea!

Well this is really a good idea. I think my little boy, (who is about lucy's age i think, almost 2 years old) will really love to play with it. Thanks for the tutorial words about how you made them, i will try that to.

Magnets are such a great idea. We don't live close to family, so this would be a good project for us.
