I'm it! Emily from Sugar and Meringue (I love her blog, by the way) tagged me to tell you about some quirky things about myself. Here are the rules:
1) Link to the person who tagged you
2) Mention the rules
3) Tell six quirky yet boring, unspectacular details about yourself
4) Tag six other bloggers by linking to them
5) Go to each person’s blog and leave a comment that lets them know they’ve been tagged
So here are some of my quirks:
1) I cannot stand to have nail polish on my fingernails and they have to be really short. I think it's because I do so much with my hands. I made the mistake of getting my nails done with french acrylics once (they did look pretty though) and I kept cutting them shorter and shorter before finally prying them off myself a week and a half later. Could not stand the way they felt. The last time I had nail polish on my fingernails was for my wedding and I actually ended up borrowing a bottle of nail polish remover from the owner of the bed and breakfast we stayed at the first 2 nights of our honeymoon. I was that desperate to get it off. I will probably never paint my nails again. I do always have my toenails painted, but that's different.
2) I hate canned peas with a passion but continue to buy them to make for dinner. Why? I don't know.
3) I rarely finish a beverage at home. Doesn't matter what it is - coffee, soda, water, beer, whatever. I always leave the same amount in the bottom, about 2 inches. Dustin is always making fun of my "drink ends". I chalk that up to my always "flittering about" the house and having to constantly do something. I just don't think I can sit there long enough to finish a drink.
4) I am crazy about needing fresh air, all the time. I can't be in air conditioning for more than about 45 minutes whether in the car or in the house - I have to turn it off and open the window for a while. In the winter when it's below freezing I'll close rooms off and open the windows to air them out one at a time so I don't freeze everybody. Or open them before we leave the house. My plants hate this quirk of mine in the winter.
5) I have a really hard time eating meat when it's on the bone. I was a strict vegetarian for 8 years and I just can't get past the fact that there's a bone in the meat. I never cook anything with a bone in it, which is too bad for me because it's a lot more expensive to get the other cuts. My family had us over for ribs last year and everyone actually stopped eating to watch me try to eat my first rib (ever) which was apparently a huge source of amusement. I guess I eat them daintily and not the right way?!
6) I can't ever have someone's feet touching my feet. Especially bare feet. It makes me want to shudder just thinking about it.
I'm going to pass this to...
Juniper Berry
Librarian Lee
Granola Girl
Merry Moon
Jenni B Originals
My Crafty Mess
I also wanted to share some pictures of Lucy playing with her new play silks! I got her 2 of them, a blue one and a rainbow one. I'm already amazed at all the different ways she's found to play with them. I wish I would have gotten her some a long time ago! I think her favorite is to put one over her head (they're see through) and charge towards Dustin or I while laughing, so cute. :) She's also used them as scarves, dolly blankets, a bed, wraps for various objects, a skirt, whipping around and for hiding.
I would definitely recommend these if you have small children! :)
Thanks for tagging me!

How fun to hear about your quirks! I think everyone has a few.
Those play silks look like the best toy ever!

Hi Amanda, I reread the rules about the Tagging and I don't know 6 bloggers to send this to, now what do I do?
