Today I spent a lot of time organizing and cleaning, putting some Christmas things away and airing the house out - it was about 50 degrees outside which in my opinion these days is very warm! It always feels so good to just putter around the house. I have to be in the right mood but when I am there's nothing else I'd rather be doing. I had a chance to put Lucy's winter nature table together today too! It's been slowly coming along but I've been waiting until after Christmas to get more things out.
On it are laminated winter scenes (she still wreaks havoc on paper), laminated snowflakes that I cut out, playsilks, a wooden tree, a green wool gnome, mushrooms, a mouse and some pinecones and a stick. She loves carrying the pictures around the house and I think they help her relate to what's going on when she looks out the window. I've been having so much fun assembling her nature tables, I think all 3 of us love them! Her autumn one is here. I wish there were more things from outside I could put on it, but a lot of things she'll either throw (rocks), poke people with (sticks) or put in her mouth. As she gets older it will be easier. :)
Here's a close up of her tree and gnome. I get most of her wooden nature table ornaments here because I like that they're handmade and that she uses non-toxic dyes and beeswax wood polish. This is a fun shop for wooden ornaments and toys too! I want this frog life cycle set for spring/summer, it looks so cool.
