Little things that have been making me happy:
The sun catcher art by Lucy that is taped to the window.
To make these, I just cut out some contact paper and gave Lucy a bowl of collage supplies and torn tissue paper. She went to town sticking things to the contact paper then I just put another piece over the top, sticky sides together, and trimmed the edges. Lucy liked making them and they were very easy! They're really pretty when the sun is coming through the window. She's very proud that they're on display.
Dolls are always showing up in the funniest places!
In Lucy's high chair, sitting on her little potty, under blankets, in the laundry basket, etc.
I don't even notice Lucy doing this so it's funny when I find one and wasn't expecting it. She's a busy one, that daughter of mine.
A basket of knitting, just waiting to be picked up and worked on!
My first little sproutlet! I've never used fresh thyme in anything. Any recipe ideas for later? What does thyme taste best on? I'm trying to do more cooking with fresh ingredients and these herbs will be fun to use.
See how cute? I can't wait until they all start growing and I can take their little greenhouse domes off. I'm going to have parsley, 2 kinds of basil, chives, thyme, dill and mint. After this crop I'm growing to grow salad greens.
What little things are making you happy lately?
Breads, chicken and zuccinni are some food you can put thyme in. Here is a site with alot of recipes. http://homecooking.about.com/library/archive/blthyme.htm

I usually put thyme in soups and try all sorts of stuff. I even like a little with egg. You should try things that sound good in your head and go from there. I like to put thyme in any meat when i cook it on the stove.
Anyway, how exciting is the aerogarden!!!!! So cool that you own one!!!! I can't wait to see what comes out of it.
I love lucy's sun catchers! So pretty, especially the little bits of doily in there! I am sure it is beautiful to look at. I remember melting bits of crayon between wax paper with an iron when I was a kid to make a stained glass effect, which was fun but probably dangerous!

oh! i just thought about thyme again! One thing we used to grill a lot last summer was burgers with blue cheese and thyme, and it was so good! I used t buy premixed patties from New Seasons, then I started just adding thyme and blue cheese to ground beef to save money.
