I want to keep expanding my Etsy shop and decided to try something new - making kid's clothes! I've had a lot of fun testing out some ideas and starting adding a couple things to my shop today. I want to stick to toddler clothes for now since I already have someone to try them and test them out on:
She absolutely will not model them, however. It's hard enough to get a non-blurry picture like this of her, let alone trying to show off clothes! This is about the best I've ever done, and she was more cooperative back then. I came up with an idea to make a portable backdrop to hang them on so I can put them in the best light for taking photos:
I bought these boards and painted them a nice, light blue. To me light blue seems like a neutral color. I can't really think of a color that doesn't look good with it. I hammered nails in them for hanging things on. Today I had test shoots with some clothes and I really like how they turned out! I think to make it a little more fun I'm going to paint bright polka dots on one of the boards so I can use either one. Here's a shot with my new background:
I really like it! I've always hated taking product photos hanging on the wall because most walls are so textured. I like a nice, flat background for photos.
I've been having fun appliqueing T shirts! I made Lucy one and these two are in my shop. We'll see how they do - at least I've enjoyed making them!
Beautiful shirts Amanda!! I may have to see if you will do a custom order for me for the new babe. I could see you doing something fantastic with a little onesie!!

I would love to! I really want to do some summer onesies with a bunch of ruffles on the butt. I think that would be cute.
