Have you ever been to an old fashioned soda fountain? I've grown up with a wonderful place nearby, Goody's, which I've always taken for granted! It's been around since before I was a little kid, I remember riding my bike there and getting a vanilla coke with cream for 50 cents and getting 50 cents worth of gummy bears or something as well. Little pleasures on a tiny budget!
Dustin, Lucy and I still go there to get vanilla cokes with cream and candy from the jar. Their ice cream is to die for, too. Their Oreo cookie ice cream is filled with the biggest Oreo cookie chunks ever!
They have ice cream sodas, handmade chocolates, egg creams and all kinds of yummy drinks too.
And lots of old fashioned candies! We went there yesterday evening to get a couple quarts of ice cream for the fridge as a treat. A few candies jumped in our basket too. And homemade caramel corn for Dustin.
Darn wrappers! They just hinder the whole candy to mouth process.
If you're ever in Central Oregon, definitely put Goody's on your list of places to stop by. Are there any good soda fountains where you live that I should put on my list?
I would go to central Oregon just to visit Goody's! How I wish we had a shop like that in my area. Your are so lucky.
