This news article made me happy this week. I'm not going to go off about how the fashion industry shouldn't use skinny models, I'm tired of hearing about that. I just think it's really refreshing to see a model on the runway who's body looks more like mine, curvy. Bravo to Mark Fast for taking a risk.
This came at just the right time for me. I've been struggling with my body image lately. I'm a size 12, and I'm normally fine with that, but I'm carrying some extra weight in spots from my pregnancy. It would be okay if I had a baby to show for it, but right now it's just frustrating. I love every extra curve Lucy gave me when I was pregnant with her, but these curves are harder to love. Working on that.

Curvy women are beautiful, but it takes guts to say that in a world where skinny is respected and fat is not. I appreciate everyone who's ever stood up and said that in the face of controversy. It helps.
