Last week we decided to get some chicks to eventually join our other chickens. They are just so cute and are growing at an astonishing rate! Right now they are living in my craft room and I hear a constant "peeppeeppeep" when I'm working on projects.
I don't really condone buying children chicks for Easter (unless you were intending to get some anyway) but I had fun on Easter day doing "chick photoshoots" with Lucy. This little yellow guy (who, by the way, I just found running around on the floor of my craft room instead of in his box) is a Delaware. We have one more of these, also 2 Silver Laced Wyandottes and 2 Light Brown Leghorns.
Lucy loves them and is having fun watching them grow. She's a little afraid of our big chickens sometimes and I think this is a good way for her to be more involved.
They can't join our big chickens for about 6 months because they will be picked on, so they are going to get their own special small coop (actually chicken tractor) made just for them.
I can't wait for them to be in the backyard with us this summer!
oooh the soft, fuzzy goodness...I love them! I can hardly wait to move so we can have some next spring. Your photos are just too sweet! xoxo

I love little chicks....ducklings too. I wish I didn't live in the city, otherwise I would love to own some.
